Artwork Guidelines

If possible to do so, please supply artwork as a print-ready PDF with bleeds. We can work with most other formats but programmes such as Publisher & Word may require conversion and proofing. This may be chargeable depending on the work required.

If ordering from our online shop, artwork can be uploaded using the link provided or can be sent through to us via email. If the file is large, please let us know and we will send you a link to upload to.

If file conversion is required we will do a comprehensive check, fix any potential problems and email through a final PDF for you to sign off before we go to print.

If you’re a going to supply the artwork, please see our guidelines below if you are unsure. If anything is still unclear please call us on 023 8033 9808 and we will gladly assist.

PDF files: Please ensure all fonts are embedded

Crop marks

Hover Box Element

Please add crop (trim) marks with an offset of at least 2mm

Hover Box Element

Please allow at least 2mm extra on any edge where images are to print up to an edge. The 2mm will be trimmed to remove any white borders. If your software does not allow for bleed (i.e. MS Word) dependent on the design we may be able to add this for you.

In general, we recommend minimum margins of around 5mm unless objects are to bleed off the edges. If you are unsure please contact us and we will be happy to advise.

Image resolution

Hover Box Element

All images should be at least 300dpi at final size.

The artwork colour should be set up as CMYK or Pantone spot colours if possible. For litho printing, RGB files will need to be converted and results can be unpredictable. If spot colours are to be used please set these up and make sure separation works correctly.

Transparency and overprint

Hover Box Element

Transparencies, drop shadows and complex gradients should be flattened where possible and PDF files viewed with ‘overprint’ on.
